Horsens Håndboldklub , or Horsens HK for short , is a handball club from the Danish city of Horsens , whose women's team played several seasons in the Danish top division.

history

The association was formed in 1985 through the merger of the Horsens forenede Håndboldklubber and Dagnæs IF associations. The women's team competed in the Damehåndboldligaen - the highest Danish league. In the 1999/2000 cup season, the team reached the Danish cup final, which was lost 24:27 against GOG / Gudme . Four seasons later, the team moved into the final again. With a 23:22 win against Ikast / Bording EH , Horsens HK won its only title so far. In the seasons 2001/02 , 2004/05 and 2005/06 Horsens took part in the European Cup. In 2010 the women's team was relegated to the 1st division and a year later they were forced to relegate to the 2nd division. After three seasons in the 2nd division, Horsens returned to the 1st division in 2014. In the 2015/16 season, the team competed in the 2nd division. In 2016, the team managed to get back up immediately. In 2019 Horsens returned to the Damehåndboldligaen.
