Cornelia Nycke Groot (born May 4, 1988 in Alkmaar ) is a Dutch handball player .
Career
Groot played in the Netherlands for Koedijk, Kolping and first division club Zeeman Vastgoed SEW . She took part in the European Cup with Zeeman Vastgoed SEW. In 2006, the back player joined the Danish club Team Tvis Holstebro . In 2011 she signed a contract with league rivals FC Midtjylland Håndbold . With FCM Håndbold she won the Danish Cup in 2012 and 2014, the Danish Championship in 2013 and 2015 and the European Cup Winners' Cup in 2015 . From the 2015/16 season she was under contract with the top Hungarian club Győri ETO KC . In 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 she won the Hungarian Championship with Győri ETO KC, the Hungarian Cup in 2016, 2018 and 2019 and the EHF Champions League in 2017, 2018 and 2019 . In the summer of 2019 she moved to the Danish first division club Odense Håndbold .
Nycke Groot made 141 appearances for the Netherlands , in which she scored 439 goals. With the Dutch selection, she took part in the European Championships in 2010 and the World Championships in 2013 . She also took part in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . She won the silver medal at the 2016 European Championships and was elected to the All-Star Team and MVP . Groot won bronze medals at the 2017 World Championships and 2018 European Championships .
