Tess Wester (born May 19, 1993 in Heerhugowaard ) is a Dutch handball player .
Career
Tess Wester started handball in her hometown at the Hugo Girls club. She later played for VZV and from 2008 to 2011 for the HandbalAcademie, with which she took part in the EHF Challenge Cup in the 2009/10 season . Due to a second game right, the 1.76 meter tall goalkeeper also played for VOC Amsterdam, with whom she competed in the qualification for the EHF Champions League in the 2008/09 season and, after this was missed, in the EHF Cup , as well as for the first division club E&O Emmen, including in the European Cup Winners' Cup . From summer 2011 she was under contract with the German Bundesliga club VfL Oldenburg . With Oldenburg she won the DHB Cup in 2012 . In the 2014/15 season she scored the goal of the season. From the 2015/16 season she was under contract with SG BBM Bietigheim . In 2017 she won the German championship with Bietigheim. In summer 2018, she moved to the Danish first division club Odense Håndbold .
Wester is part of the Dutch national team , for which she has played 97 internationals so far . In 2010 she was third at the U-19 World Cup with the Dutch juniors and in 2011 she was vice European champion at the U-20 European Championship. She also took part in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . Wester won the silver medal at the 2016 European Championship as well as the bronze medal at the 2017 World Championship and the 2018 European Championship . At the 2019 World Cup , she won the World Cup title in the final against the Spanish selection. Wester was still elected to the All-Star team.
