Gabriella Ibolya Szűcs (born August 31, 1984 in Oradea ) is a Hungarian - Romanian handball player .

Career

Gabriella Szűcs played from 1999 for the Hungarian club Debreceni VSC. In 2008, the back court player signed a contract with the Romanian first division club CS Oltchim Râmnicu Vâlcea . With Oltchim Râmnicu Vâlcea she won the Romanian Championship in 2009, 2010 and 2011 and the Romanian Cup in 2011. After Szűcs ran up again for Debreceni VSC in 2011, she joined the Romanian club HC Zalau in the same year . In 2013 she moved to the Romanian first division club HCM Baia Mare . With Baia Mare she won the championship in 2014 and the Romanian Cup in 2014 and 2015. In the summer of 2016, Szűcs moved to the Romanian first division club HC Dunărea Brăila . In December 2017, she took a break due to her pregnancy. In October 2019 she took part in the training of HC Dunărea Brăila for the first time after the birth of her daughter.

Gabriella Szűcs made 96 appearances for the Hungarian national team . With Hungary she won the bronze medal at the European Championship in 2004 and the bronze medal at the World Championship in 2005 . She also took part in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing . Szűcs has been playing for the Romanian national team since 2015 . With Romania, she finished third at the 2015 World Cup. She was part of the Romanian squad for the 2016 Olympic Games  in Rio de Janeiro .
