Main round
The main round games took place in Győr and Debrecen. Two groups were formed from the twelve teams from the preliminary round. In group I the first three of groups A and B played, in group II the first three of groups C and D. The points from the preliminary round that were scored against the other teams that had also reached the main round were taken over . The two first and second place winners in the groups advanced to the semi-finals. The third of the two groups played from the 5th place.
