Idalina Borges Mesquita (born July 2, 1976 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a former Brazilian handball player .

Career

Idalina Borges Mesquita played from 1991 at the Brazilian club Clube Esportivo Mauá. In 2006, the right-hander joined the German Bundesliga club HC Leipzig , with whom she won the championship in 2007 and 2008. The outside player then moved to the Austrian club Hypo Niederösterreich . With Hypo, she won the championship and the ÖHB-Cup in 2009 and 2010 . In 2010 she returned to the German Bundesliga, where she was under contract with Thuringian HC . With the THC, Borges Mesquita celebrated winning the championship and the DHB Cup in 2011 . After winning the championship in 2012, she ended her career. Then Idalina Borges Mesquita returned to Brazil, where she works as a physical education teacher in Rio de Janeiro.

Idalina Borges Mesquita has made over 200 international appearances for the Brazilian national team . With the Brazilian selection, she won the Pan Games in 1999 , Pan Games in 2003 and Pan Matches 2007 . She also took part in the 2000 Olympic Games , 2004 Olympic Games and 2008 Olympic Games in part.
