Mónika Kovacsicz (born November 20, 1983 in Komárno , Czechoslovakia ) is a Hungarian handball player .

Career

Kovacsicz began playing handball in 1992 in the Slovak city of Nesvady and then ran between 2000 and 2003 for the Hungarian club Békéscsabai Előre NKSE . The winger then moved to Győri ETO KC , with whom she won the Hungarian championship in 2005 and 2006 and the Hungarian Cup in 2005, 2006 and 2007. The left-hander then played for Ferencváros Budapest in the 2007/08 season . Then Kovacsicz joined the Danish club Viborg HK , with which she won the Danish championship and the EHF Champions League in 2009 . In 2010 Kovacsicz returned to Ferencváros Budapest, with whom she won the Hungarian championship in 2015 and the European Cup Winners' Cup in 2011 and 2012 . After the 2015/16 season, she ended her career. A year later she made her comeback at the Hungarian club Szent István SE. In January 2018, Kovacsicz moved to Mosonmagyaróvári KC.

Kovacsicz was a member of the Hungarian women's national team . Her greatest successes with the national team so far are the bronze medals at the 2005 World Cup and the 2012 European Championship . At the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing , she finished fourth with Hungary.

Others

Her cousin Szandra Szöllősi-Zácsik also plays handball professionally.
