Katalin Pálinger [ ˈkɒtɒlin ˈpaːliŋɡɛr ] (born December 6, 1978 in Mosonmagyaróvár , Hungary ) is a former Hungarian handball player . Her body length is 1.83 m, her competition weight is 73 kg. She has been the team manager of the Hungarian national team since 2014.

Pálinger signed her first professional contract with the nearby first division club Győri ETO KC . Although she was largely unsuccessful with the north-west Hungarians, she became a national player, so that in 2000 she was signed by Dunaferr SE . There she won the Hungarian championship in 2001, 2003 and 2004 and the Hungarian Cup in 2002 and 2004; in addition, she moved into the final of the EHF Cup in 2003 . In 2005 she was looking for a new challenge and moved abroad to FCK Håndbold in Denmark. With the women from the capital Copenhagen she couldn't get past the big clubs Slagelse DT and Viborg HK , whereupon she moved on to the Rokometni Klub Krim after only one year . With the women from the Slovenian capital, she became Slovenian champion and cup winner straight away; In 2007, however, she returned to her home club from Győr, which had become more athletic. With Győr Pálinger was in the final of the EHC Champions League in 2009, in which she failed to Viborg HK. After the 2011/12 season, she ended her career.

Before she retired from the national team, Katalin Pálinger had played 254 international matches for the Hungarian women's handball team . With Hungary she was European champion in 2000, two years earlier she had already won bronze . She won silver at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney as well as at the 1999 Women's Handball World Championship . At the 2007 women's handball world championship in France, she finished eighth with Hungary. At the Olympic Games in 2008 she reached 4th place with the Hungarian national team.
