The 1975/76 season of the handball Bundesliga is the tenth of the double-track seasons in its history .

20 teams played in two seasons of ten teams each for the German championship in 1976. The game for the championship has been preceded by a semifinals since the 1969/70 season , for which the first and second teams in the North and South teams compete after the 18th matchday qualified. The winners from the semi-finals competed against each other in a final. The winner is German Champion 1976. Reinickendorfer Füchse , SG Dietzenbach , TSV Altenholz , TuS Derschlag 1881 and TV 1893 Neuhausen were promoted to the new season . Two relegation games were played between the two eighth-placed teams in the North and South. In addition, the DHB Cup was played for the second time.

German champion in 1976 was for the seventh time in the club's history the defending champion VfL Gummersbach , who defeated the second-placed team in the north, TSV Grün-Weiß Dankersen , in the final. The relegation games between the two eighth-placed teams in the North and South ended with Frisch Auf Göppingen remaining in League 1. Hamburger SV , TSV Altenholz , TV 1893 Neuhausen and VfL Bad Schwartau had to relegate . In addition, the Reinickendorfer Füchse switched to the North Season for the 1976/77 season.
