The Westpress Arena is a multifunctional hall with an underlying shopping center in the city of Hamm in North Rhine-Westphalia . It is the home ground of ASV Hamm-Westphalia in the 2nd handball Bundesliga and was the home ground of the first division club HSG Ahlen-Hamm , a syndicate of ASV Hamm and Ahlener SG , which disbanded after a year 2011. The arena has a capacity of around 2650 spectators. There is a foyer as well as a press and VIP area.
On the ground floor there is a rental area of around 6100 square meters and tenants from various industries.
The Westpress Arena was built on September 21, 2007 in cooperation with the city of Hamm in the Werries district - Hamm-Uentrop district - between the Maxi-Center and the ice rink. The Maxipark Arena and the shopping center were financed with an investment of around 20 million euros. The development and construction costs of the sports hall are generated from the rental income from the shopping street.
Six changing rooms are available for athletes. The arena was prepared for TV. The construction was carried out by Industriebau Imetaal GmbH, a construction company of the Ten Brinke Group.
