Daniel Wessig (born January 31, 1988 in Schwerin ) is a former German handball player who played several seasons in the Bundesliga .

Career

Wessig ran from 2007 to 2010 at THW Kiel and at the same time had a support license for TSV Altenholz until the cooperation was discontinued in 2009. Wessig played on the backcourt position on the left . Then he was under contract with HSC 2000 Coburg and HBW Balingen-Weilstetten , from where he moved to TV 1893 Neuhausen for the 2014/15 season. He ended his career in 2016.

The banker has played 29 international matches for the youth national team and took part in the U18 European Championship in Estonia in 2006. With the junior selection he won the world championship in 2009.

Private

His father is Gerd Wessig , Olympic champion in the high jump at the 1980 Olympic Games . His mother Christine Schima was seventh in the long jump at the European Athletics Championships in 1982 .
