The Swiss Project Management Association (spm) is the nationally and internationally recognized Swiss professional association in project management. It was founded in 1983 and represents Switzerland as an exclusive member of the International Project Management Association (IPMA) founded in 1965 .

As a cross-industry specialist organization, the spm is committed to the dissemination, further development and acceptance of project management in business and society. As an independent professional association, the spm offers an exchange between providers of project management services and organizations that professionally apply project management in the sense of change the business .

The association according to the Swiss Civil Code and consists of the following bodies:

General assembly of the members, board of directors, auditors and office.

Ingrid Giel has been the club's president since 2019.

The association has set itself the goal of improving the chances of success of Swiss companies and organizations in international competition and the career prospects of all people working in project management through:

  • sustainable promotion of project management in practice
  • initiate suitable educational measures at all levels
  • Promotion of practical research and development
  • effective knowledge management
  • Cooperation with national and international organizations
  • international standardization and certification in project management

The spm does not offer commercial project management services such as B. consulting, further training, instruments, but concentrates on services for which there are no or no commercial providers.

Members and partnerships

Individuals as well as companies, organizations and public institutions can become members. In 2013 the spm had 93 corporate members and 557 individual members. The spm maintains partnerships with various organizations and companies and various services are also offered to a wider group of interested parties. The partners have the following options for support and collaboration:
