history

In 1967 August Kirchner acquired the small ice cream production facility at Café Rosen in Heinsberg from his uncle Karl . In the rented back rooms of the café, ice cream was handcrafted, which was sold in the vicinity. In the third financial year, production moved to the former Westmark brewery in Waldfeucht-Haaren. The acquisition of the first round freezer for the production of stick ice cream marked the beginning of industrial ice cream production. Over 90% of ice cream products produced at that time of roses ice cream were trademarks .

In 1998, in the immediate vicinity of the parent company, Plant 2 was built with its own production line for extruded ice cream and ice cream sandwiches. In addition, a fully automatic deep-freeze high-bay warehouse was built on the outskirts . The first fully automatic packaging system in a food manufacturing company was put into operation in 2006.

On January 1, 2007, the founder's son took over the private label production of Nestlé Schöller Produktions GmbH and thus the production facilities in Nuremberg and Prenzlau . Rosen Eiskrem is a founding member of the " International Ice Cream Consortium (IICC)", a network of mostly family-run and independent ice cream manufacturers in 13 countries. In the product development , the marketing and the purchase of goods , the companies work together.

In November 2012 the Deutsche Milchkontor acquired a majority stake in Rosen Eiskrem. The company was renamed DMK Eis GmbH. Three years later, the company's management decided to close the plant in Recke (Westphalia) at the end of 2015 and the one in Nuremberg by the end of 2017. [outdated]

Since the takeover by the DMK Group, own brands have been produced in addition to private labels.
