Igor Anic (born June 12, 1987 in Mostar , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a French handball player . The 1.96 meter long and 106 kg heavy student plays in the center of the circle .
Career
Anic played for the French club Montpellier HB until 2007 , with whom he became French champion and French cup winner in 2006. Anic then succeeded Per Thomas Linders at THW Kiel , who shortly before moved to FCK Håndbold in Copenhagen. In summer 2010 Anic moved to league rivals VfL Gummersbach on a free transfer . In 2012, Anic returned to France, where he played for Cesson-Rennes Métropole HB . After playing for HBC Nantes since summer 2014 , he returned to THW Kiel in October 2015 as a replacement for the injured Patrick Wiencek . In the 2016/17 season he played for the French club Saran Loiret Handball . He then moved to the Slovenian club RK Celje . In the summer of 2019 he returned to the second division club Cesson-Rennes Métropole HB. With Cesson-Rennes Métropole HB he rose to the top French league a year later.
Anic made his international debut with the French national team on June 21, 2009 against Latvia. Since then, he has played a total of 39 international matches, in which he scored 36 goals. In 2014 he became European champion in Denmark .
Private
His big hobby is painting. He particularly enjoys drawing caricatures. His handball colleagues are a popular motif.
Recently he has been doing a lot of photography and has his own YouTube channel.
Igor Anic is married and has two sons.
