Cologne crime thriller
The Cologne crime thriller is a local branch of crime fiction , the settings of which are in the city of Cologne and the surrounding area and whose protagonists represent the people of the Rhineland to varying degrees. The background to the action is often provided by current events, political developments or special characteristics of the Rhenish way of life, such as the Cologne clique . In addition to real existing locations, e.g. B. public places or restaurants, fictitious addresses of crime scenes or companies relevant to the plot occur. For those who know Cologne there is still a high recognition value .
The acting persons are usually fictional, but a special attraction arises when real persons can be recognized behind fictional names.
In addition to the regional crime series published by Cologne-based Emons Verlag under the title Köln Krimi , which now comprises more than 60 volumes, other publishers, some in smaller series, are also devoting themselves to the crime scene of Cologne.
