Frank Grützbach

Frank Grützbach (* 1943 in Lötzen ( East Prussia )) is a German screenwriter , film director and writer .

Life

Frank Grützbach was initially a bookseller and advertising salesman before he was accepted at the newly founded German Film and Television Academy Berlin (dffb) (in the very first year, together with Harun Farocki , Daniel Schmid , Wolfgang Petersen and many others). After studying film, he wrote reports for radio and television, later he became an entertainment editor at WDR . In the early 1970s he was Heinrich Böll's secretary , with whom he published two books, one about Ulrike Meinhof . Grützbach has lived in Cologne since 1964 , where he works as a director and author for radio and television. Since 1998 he has been co-author of the ARD series Lindenstrasse .
