Career
Eggert began his career at the age of five with the Aarhus district association Brabrand IF, with which he won the renowned Thy-Cup youth tournament in Thisted in northern Jutland in 1994. In 1999 he moved to the Jutland neighboring club Silkeborg KFUM, which commuted between the first and second Danish league. Four years later, the seven-time Danish champion and six-time cup winner GOG Svendborg signed him. With the Gudmern he was Danish champion in 2004 and cup winner in 2003 and 2005. Here he developed into a national player and was considered the best left winger in the Danish league. From the 2006/07 season he played for SG Flensburg-Handewitt . There he got only a few playing times behind the Danish record national player Lars Christiansen . However, since Christiansen extended his contract again until 2010 in the fall of 2007, Eggert was loaned to the Danish first division club Skjern Håndbold for the 2008/09 season. In the 2010/11 season Eggert was the top scorer in the Bundesliga with 248 goals. With Flensburg-Handewitt, Eggert won the European Cup Winners' Cup in 2012 , the Champions League in 2014 and the DHB Cup in 2015.
In August 2016 it was announced that he would leave SG after the 2016/17 season and move to the Danish club Skjern Håndbold.
International matches
Eggert played for the U19 team for the first time at the age of 18. Just one year later he was called up for the first time in the U21 team, for which he scored an average of six goals.
