  • 1799 : The Gasco dam on the Guadarrama River near Galapagar near Madrid in Spain breaks. At the time of the collapse, the wall was 53 m high, with a total height of 93 m. The storage volume would have been 22.5 million m³. The construction is then abandoned, the ruins are still there today.
