Maurice Lehmann (born May 14, 1895 in Paris ; † May 17, 1974 ibid) was a French theater and film director, theater director, producer and actor.

Live and act

From 1929 Lehmann directed the Théâtre du Châtelet for forty years and brought operettas to the stage there such as Mississipi (with the famous Old man river ), Robert le pirate , Sidonie Panache , Rose de France , Au soleil du Mexique , Nina Rosa , Valses de Vienne and Ignace . The participating actors included André Baugé , Edmée Favart , Fernandel , Nicky Nancel and Jacques Chazot . He himself has performed at Albert Willemetz ' Théâtre des Nouveautés in Toi cest moi, Normandie, Azor with the duo Pills et Tabet , Ginette Leclerc , Duvaleix , Pauline Carton , Fernand Gravey , Marie Dubas and Yvonne Printemps and with Pierre Fresnay in Trois valses .

In 1923 Lehmann played the title role in Léonce Perret's film Koenigsmark . In collaboration with Claude Autant-Lara , he made three successful films in the 1930s: L'affaire du courrier de Lyon (1937; based on a script by Léon Poirier , with Roger Karl and Blanche Montel ), Le ruisseau (1938) and Fric- Frac (1939). He was the sole director of Une jeune fille savait (1948).
