Paul Struck
Paul Friedrich Struck (born December 6, 1776 in Stralsund , † May 14, 1820 in Preßburg ) was a Pomeranian-Swede, a German-Austrian classical composer.
Live and act
Paul Struck was the son of the Stralsund council and government printer Christian Lorenz Struck (1741–1793). He began studying music in Berlin in 1792 and continued with Johann Georg Albrechtsberger and then with Joseph Haydn in Vienna. The search for a job as a conductor led him to Stockholm, among other places, where he performed Haydn's creation in 1801. In 1802 he settled in Vienna as a piano teacher and in 1809 married a 29-year-old widow. After selling his Viennese house to Hubert Ludwig Count de la Fontaine et d'Harnoncourt-Unverzagt (1789–1846), he moved to Pressburg, where he lived from 1817 until his death in 1820. Ernst Ludwig Gerber described him in 1812 in his "New historical-biographical lexicon of the Tonku̇nstler" p. 299 " ... as a young musician in Vienna, a student of the worthy Haydn ...... He is one of the good composers "
