Édouard Pignon (born February 12, 1905 in Bully-les-Mines near Arras , Pas-de-Calais , † May 14, 1993 in La Couture-Boussey ) was a French painter .

life and work

Édouard Pignon spent his childhood and youth in Marles-les-Mines until 1927. His initial training and professional activity was that of a miner. Pignon acquired his artistic training in courses at evening schools. He was a member of the Association des Écrivains et Artistes Révolutionnaires AEAR. Pignon's painting is strongly influenced by the artistic work of Pablo Picasso . At the same time, his imagery is in the tradition of Expressionism . Édouard Pignon maintained his studio in Paris for many years.
