Nigel Shola Andre Reo-Coker (born May 14, 1984 in Croydon ) is an English football player .

Career

Nigel Reo-Coker, the son of an immigrant from Sierra Leone , began his professional career at the age of 18 at Wimbledon FC . Shortly afterwards he was appointed captain appointed the team. This made him the youngest team captain in the club's history to date.

In January 2004, West Ham United signed Reo-Coker. After initial difficulties, he was able to establish himself there, was appointed team captain and celebrated with West Ham in the 2004/05 season, the rise of West Ham in the Premier League .

For the 2007/08 season, Reo-Coker moved from West Ham United to Aston Villa after 120 league appearances in which he scored eleven goals . He stayed there until the end of the 2010/11 season when his contract with Aston Villa was not renewed. By then he had scored a goal for Aston Villa in 77 league games.

He then switched to the Bolton Wanderers . After the team's relegation from the Premier League, Reo-Coker dissolved his contract at the end of the 2011/12 season .

In October 2012 he moved to Ipswich Town for three months . On February 20, 2013, he moved to Major League Soccer for the Vancouver Whitecaps . On August 21, he was sent to CD Chivas USA in exchange for Mauro Rosales . The franchise was dissolved at the end of the 2014 season .

Reo-Coker then switched to the Canadian franchise Montreal Impact . In the 2015 season , Reo-Coker made 31 appearances for Impact, 22 of them from the start. At the end of the season, the contract between him and Montreal Impact was terminated by mutual agreement.

He signed a contract with the Norwegian club Start Kristiansand in May 2017 , but the contract was terminated at the end of June. He only found a new club in March 2018 when he joined the English third division club Milton Keynes Dons .
