The 2011/12 Premier League was the 20th season of the English Premier League and also the 113th first division season in English football. It started on August 13, 2011 and ended on May 13, 2012. Defending champion from the previous season 2010/11 was Manchester United . With promoted Swansea City , a Welsh team took part in the Premier League for the first time.

With a 3-2 win against Queens Park Rangers on the last day of the game, Manchester City won their first championship title in the Premier League before their city rivals Manchester United with equal points .
