The 1. HNL 2011/12 was the 21st season of the highest Croatian football league . The season started on July 23, 2011 and ended on May 12, 2011 with the 30th and final round.
Dinamo Zagreb was already the champions for the seventh time in a row with five laps to go.
mode
Due to a switch from 16 to 12 clubs in the next season, five teams should be relegated to the 2nd HNL at the end of the season , and only the champions of the current season of the second division, NK Dugopolje , should be promoted. However, since he did not receive a license for the 1st HNL, the twelfth-placed HNK Rijeka was spared relegation.
16 teams played against each other twice on a total of 30 match days, divided into a first half and a second half. The 231 games were attended by 487,954 spectators. The average attendance was thus 2,112.
