RNK Split ( Radnički nogometni klub Split , German workers' football club Split ) is a football club from Croatia .

history

Founded on April 16, 1912 under the name HRŠD Anarh in the Veli Varoš district of Split , one year after its more well-known city rival Hajduk , the association was forcibly dissolved soon after the assassination attempt in Sarajevo because the members refused to carry a flag with a black ribbon to hang in the window. After the collapse of Austria-Hungary , the re-establishment in the new state of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes took place several times under different names and sometimes with mergers with other associations. The name changes continued during the Second World War and in the years after, until in January 1953 the name was changed to Radničko sportsko društvo Split and then promotions in 1953, 1955 and 1957, which led the club to the first Yugoslav league, of which he was part in the seasons 1957/58 and 1960/61. 1960/61 succeeded with participation in the semi-finals, the furthest advance in the Yugoslav club cup. In 1992 the RNK Split was a founding member of the 2nd HNL , in 1997 and 1998 the championship was achieved in the south relay.

RNK Split became champions of the 2nd HNL in 2009/10 and thus played again in the first division in the 2010/11 season after 49 years . There, the club finished 3rd in its premiere season and qualified for the UEFA Europa League .

After the 2016/17 season they rose as bottom of the table and after license withdrawal in the third Croatian league.
