Meistriliiga 2011

The Meistriliiga 2012 was the 22nd season of the highest Estonian football division of men. The game was played from March 10 to November 3, 2012. FC Flora Tallinn started the season as defending champions . However, the club could not defend the title from the previous year. The Estonian Championship 2012 was won early by JK Nõmme Kalju .

Season course

As in the previous season, the league comprised ten teams. The current title holder was the record champions FC Flora Tallinn . Promoted from the Esiliiga was the JK Tallinna Kalev , the FC Kuressaare remained after the relegation matches in the Meistriliiga after the club against which FC Infonet was able to prevail.

The championship was played in a regular season in two round matches. Each team competes four times against every other team. The bottom of the table is relegated to the second -rate Esiliiga , the ninth-placed played in the relegation against the runner-up in the Esiliiga 2012 .

The opening game of the new season was played between JK Nõmme Kalju and FC Levadia Tallinn . The game was broadcast live on Estonian TV channel TV6 and ended 0-0. The defending champion Flora Tallinn, who previously won the Supercup against JK Trans Narva , also won the first game of the new season against last year's fifth JK Kalev Sillamäe with 2-0. In the further course of the season Nõmme Kalju sat at the top of the table, followed by Flora and Levadia. Three game days before the end of the season, Nõmme secured the club's first championship title with a 1-0 away win in a catch-up game at FC Kuressaare with a goal from Kristen Viikmäe . As a sporting relegation to the Esiliiga, JK Tammeka Tartu was already established, but was able to stay in the Meistriliiga due to the forced relegation of FC Viljandi . JK Tallinna Kalev had to play against JK Tarvas Rakvere in the relegation and won it. The top scorer was Vladislav Ivanov for the first time since the 2007 season from a Russian.
