The Meistriliiga 2001 was the eleventh season of the highest Estonian football division for men. The regular games were played from March 31 to November 4, 2001, the two relegation games on November 12 and 17, 2001.

At the end of the season, FC Flora Tallinn was able to perfect its fifth championship in the club's history. As reigning Estonian champions, Flora failed in the following Champions League season 2002/03 to APOEL Nicosia . The FC Lootus Kohtla-Jarve went at the end of the season in the relegation against FC Valga and was able to decide for themselves. The bottom of the table FC Kuressaare had to relegate to the second-rate Esiliiga .
