The Virslīga 2001 was the tenth season of the highest Latvian football league since it was founded in 1992. It was hosted by the Latvian Football Association . The season started on April 7, 2001 and ended on November 10, 2001.

Skonto Riga became Latvian champions for the tenth time in a row.
