Primeira Liga 1999/2000

The Primeira Liga 2000/01 was the 67th season of the top Portuguese division in men's football. It started on August 18, 2000 and ended on May 27, 2001.

The climbers from the Liga de Honra were SC Beira Mar , FC Paços de Ferreira and Desportivo Aves . Desportivo Aves was relegated to the Liga de Honra and last year's champions Sporting Lisbon only finished third. Boavista Porto secured the first championship title. In addition, Boavista is only the fifth club to win the championship.
