Primeira Divisão 1971/72

The Primeira Divisão 1972/73 was the 39th season of the top Portuguese division in men's football. It began on September 10, 1972 and ended on June 10, 1973.

Defending champion Benfica Lisbon became Portuguese champions for the 20th time. The championship was already won five game days before the end of the season. Benfica ended the season undefeated, 18 points ahead of Belenenses Lisbon . Eusébio vom Meister received the Golden Shoe as Europe's top scorer for the second time .
