The 2001/02 Primeira Liga was the 68th season of the Portuguese top division in men's football. It began on August 10, 2001 and ended on May 5, 2002. All three promoted from the Segunda League , Vitória Setúbal , CD Santa Clara and Varzim SC were able to hold the league.

Sporting Lisbon became Portuguese champions for the 18th time.
