SC Salgueiros , officially “Sport Comércio e Salgueiros”, is a football club . It was founded on December 8, 1911 and is based in Paranhos ( Porto ), Portugal . The home stadium was called Estádio Engº Vidal Pinheiro . The club colors are red and white. After Salgueiros still played in the 2001/02 season in the Superliga , the club has since been in constant sporting and economic decline, which ended with the dissolution of the 1st team in the 2004/05 season. The stadium was sold to the city of Porto, on whose site an underground station was to be built. In 2008 football was resumed under the name Sport Clube Salgueiros 08 .
In addition to soccer , the club also operates the departments of water polo , handball , chess and athletics .
