history
Football began in Trofa in 1927, and CD Trofense was officially founded in 1930. Between 1935 and 1950, championship football was suspended.
On the 75th anniversary in 2002, the club achieved promotion to the Segunda League for the first time , where it finished 11th in its first year. After the 2007/08 season , the club was second in the league and thus rose to the top division for the first time, but rose again immediately after the 2008/09 season as bottom of the table. Some results of the first division year, such as a 2-0 win against the top club Benfica Lisbon , remained in the memory.
