The FC Alverca (complete: Futebol Clube de Alverca ) is a football club in the Portuguese city ​​of Alverca do Ribatejo , a suburb of Lisbon . He played in the first Portuguese league, the Primeira Liga , for a total of five years at the turn of the millennium .

The association was founded on September 1, 1939 . In 1998 the FC Alverca team rose to the Primeira Liga for the first time and achieved the best club placement with an 11th place in the 1999/2000 season . The first descent took place after four years. In the 2003/04 season Alverca played again in the first division, but rose directly from 16th place. After the end of the following season , the club broke up due to financial difficulties. Two years later, Alverca resumed playing in a regional amateur league in Lisbon. After many years in lower-class leagues, the club rose to the national, four-track third division, the Campeonato de Portugal , in 2018 .

The home games are played in the Complexo Desportivo FC Alverca .
