Divizia A 2000/01

The Divizia A 2001/02 was the 64th season in the history of the Romanian football league . It started on August 3, 2001 and ended on June 1, 2002 . Games were closed from the beginning of December to the beginning of March ( winter break ). Champion Dinamo Bucharest .

The Divizia A played with 16 teams. The two last-placed teams got into the Divizia B from. The teams in places 13 and 14 wore relegation games against the two runners-up of the two groups in Divizia B to stay in Divizia A. There were three points for a win, one point for a draw and no points for a defeat. If two or more teams were tied at the end of the season, it was not the goal difference that decided , but the direct comparison.
