The Divizia B 2002/03 was the 63rd season of the second highest Romanian football league . Petrolul Ploiesti and Apulum Alba Iulia and FC Oradea via the play-offs rose in the Divizia A on.

mode

The league was played in two seasons with 16 teams each. The two winners were promoted directly to Divizia A, while the runner-ups were also promoted through the play-offs. The last two clubs were relegated to Divizia C. There were three points for a win, one for a draw and no point for a loss. If two or more teams were tied at the end of the season, it was not the goal difference that decided , but the direct comparison .

    4thBucovina Suceava acquired the starting place from Tractorul Brașov, as he withdrew from Divizia A. Two game days before the end of the season, Bucovina was excluded due to transfer offenses.
    5 Rulmentul Alexandria was spared relegation because of the offense of Bucovina Suceava.
    6th NC Foresta Suceava moved back to Fălticeni with the club and was renamed Foresta Fălticeni.

    1Gilortul Târgu Cărbuneşti withdrew during the winter break. The remaining games of the second half of the season were rated 3-0 for the opponents.
    2UM Timișoara could not play two games due to financial problems and was excluded from the league on matchday 12. The results obtained so far have been canceled.
