The Divizia B 1953 was the 14th season of the second highest Romanian football league . The two season champion flacara Ploiesti , Metalul Hunedoara , and play-off winners Metalul Câmpia Turzii rose in the Divizia A on.

The Divizia B was held in two seasons with 16 teams each. The two winners were promoted directly to Divizia A, while the two runners-up were promoted through the play-offs. Only the teams with organizational problems were relegated, as the league was increased in the following season. There were two points for a win, one point for a draw and no point for a loss. In the event of a tie at the end of the season, the direct comparison first decided .
