Stăruința Oradea was a Romanian football club from Oradea . He reached the finals of the Romanian football championship five times in the 1920s .

history

Stăruința Oradea ( German : Perseverance ) was founded in 1912. After the city of Oradea came to Romania through the Treaty of Trianon in 1921 , the club reached the finals of the Romanian football championship for the first time in 1922 as the winner of the Oradea region . There the club was eliminated in the quarter-finals replay against eventual runner-up Victoria Cluj .

In the following years Stăruința could only rarely assert itself against the competition from CAO Oradea and only reached the finals in 1926 . There the club first prevailed against Olimpia Satu Mare , but then drew the short straw against the dominant Romanian club of that time, Chinezul Timișoara . Between 1928 and 1930 Stăruința dominated the regional championship and always reached the finals, but retired in the national finals in the first game.

When the Romanian professional league Divizia A was founded in 1932 , Stăruința could not qualify. It wasn't until two years later that the club was one of the founding members when Divizia B was introduced . The club was a permanent member of this league until 1940, when Oradea fell back to Hungary through the Second Vienna Arbitration . During this time he always played in the north-west relay with clubs from the region around the centers of Oradea, Satu Mare and Baia Mare .

After the end of World War II , Oradea came back to Romania. Stăruința was classified in the Divizia C when the game operations resumed in 1946 . In the next few years, the club no longer took part in national game operations - also due to the fact that Divizia C was only played irregularly at that time. It was not until 1957 that the company was promoted to Divizia C. After relegation in 1958, the club disbanded.
