The Liga II 2017/18 was the 78th season of the second highest Romanian football league . It started on August 5, 2017 and ended on June 2, 2018 . Games were closed from mid-December 2017 to the end of February 2018 ( winter break ).

Newcomers to League 1 were Dunărea Călărași and FC Hermannstadt .

The 20 teams played against each other twice on 38 match days. The two first-placed teams rose directly to League 1. The third placed could qualify for the league 1 via the play-offs. The last five teams were relegated to League III.

    1 CS Afumați left League II voluntarily after the end of the season and instead played in League III.
    2Politehnica Timișoara had left the pitch on matchday 31 in the match at UTA Arad in the 62nd minute. The game was rated 3-0 for UTA. In addition, three points were deducted from Poli.
    3 CSM Metalul Reșița moved to Snagov and was renamed CS Sportul Snagov.
    4thASA Târgu Mureș had to file for bankruptcy during the winter break. The remaining games were rated 3-0 for the opponents.
    5Olimpia Satu Mare has had 70 points deducted for unpaid debt. The team withdrew after the winter break. The remaining games were rated 3-0 for the opponents.
