The Liga II 2009/10 was the 70th season of the second highest Romanian football league . It started on August 15, 2009 and ended on June 12, 2010 . From the beginning of December 2009 to the end of February 2010 the game was closed ( winter break ). Promoted to League 1 were FC Victoria Brăneşti , Sportul Studențesc , FCM Târgu Mureş and Universitatea Cluj .

mode

League II was played in two seasons with 18 teams each. The two first-placed teams of each season rose to League 1 , while the last five teams had to relegate to League III . Second teams from first division clubs were not eligible for promotion. There were three points for a win, one for a draw and no point for a loss. If there was a tie at the end of the season, it was not the goal difference that decided , but the direct comparison .

    aSăgeata Stejaru bought the license from CS Buftea and took their place. CS Buftea started instead in League III.
    bFCM Bacau did not start on the 20th and 33rd matchdays. The club was then excluded from the game and subjected to forced relegation. As a result, Gloria Buzau stayed in the league.
    c Gloria Buzau was deducted eight points.
    dCetatea Suceava withdrew his team after the first half of the season. The remaining games were rated 0: 3.
