League 1 2007/08

The League 1 2008/09 was the 71st season in the history of the highest Romanian football league . It began on July 26, 2008 and ended on June 10, 2009. From mid-December to the end of February, the game was closed ( winter break ). Unirea Urziceni became the master . Farul Constanța , CS Otopeni and Gloria Buzău had to relegate . Actually, Gaz Metan Mediaş should also have been relegated, but since FC Argeş Piteşti did not receive a license, Gaz Metan Mediaş was allowed to stay in the league.

mode

The league 1 played with 18 teams. The four last-placed teams relegated to League II , from which four teams rose (the two first-placed teams from each of the two seasons). There were three points for a win, one point for a draw and no points for a defeat. If two or more teams were tied at the end of the season, it was not the goal difference that decided , but the direct comparison.
