Epaminonda Nicu (born December 17, 1979 in Bucharest ) is a former Romanian football player . The full-back played a total of 151 games in the Romanian League 1 . In 2009 he won the Romanian championship with Unirea Urziceni .

Career

Nicu began his career at Unirea Urziceni , where he saw the club's steep rise from Divizia C to the UEFA Champions League from the start. The greatest success of his career so far was winning the championship in 2009 . At the end of the 2010/11 season , he had to relegate his team back to League II . After the club was dissolved in the summer of 2011, he joined the first division club FCM Târgu Mureş . Even with his new team, he was unable to stay in class in the 2011/12 season . He stayed with the club in the House of Commons. In the summer of 2013, he moved to league competitor ACS Berceni . There he and his team were able to qualify for the play-offs in the 2013/14 season , but clearly missed promotion. In the following two years he secured himself with his team on the relegation round to stay in the class. In the 2015/16 season he also acted as team captain . In the summer of 2016, he left Berceni and joined league rivals Unirea Tărlungeni . He ended his career there at the end of 2016.
