League 1 2009/10

The League 1 2010/11 was the 73rd season in the history of the highest Romanian football league . It began on July 23, 2010 and ended on May 21, 2011. From mid-December to the end of February, the game was closed ( winter break ). Oțelul Galați became master for the first time . Sports relegated were FC Universitatea Craiova , FC Victoria Brăneşti and Unirea Urziceni . The last placed Sportul Studențesc was allowed to keep his place in League 1 after FC Timișoara and Gloria Bistrița were not given a license for the following season due to their debt situation and were transferred to League II .

mode

The league 1 played with 18 teams. Subject to the withdrawal of the license of other teams, the last four teams relegated to League II , from which four teams rose (the two first-placed teams from each of the two seasons). There were three points for a win, one point for a draw and no points for a defeat. If two or more teams were tied at the end of the season, it was not the goal difference that decided , but the direct comparison.

    After the season

    Relegated to League II

    FC Victoria Brăneşti played as the only sporting relegation in the following season in League II. FC Universitatea Craiova was excluded from the Romanian Football Association because of unresolved legal matters. Unirea Urziceni withdrew from all competitions organized by the Romanian Association. FC Timișoara and Gloria Bistrița did not receive a license for League 1 and were only allowed to compete in League II. As a result, Sportul Studențesc stayed in League 1.

    Promoted to League 1

    Ceahlăul Piatra Neamț , Petrolul Ploieşti , CS Concordia Chiajna , CS Mioveni , CSU Voința Sibiu . The athletic promoted FC Bihor Oradea received no license for League 1 and was replaced by CSU Voința Sibiu, which was able to prevail in two relegation games scheduled at short notice against Săgeata Năvodari .
