Divizia A 1986/87

The Divizia A 1987/88 was the 50th season in the history of the Romanian football league Divizia A. It began on August 23, 1987 and ended on June 22, 1988 . Games were closed from mid-December to early March ( winter break ).

Champion was Steaua Bucharest for the fourth time in a row .

The 18 teams played against each other twice on 34 match days. The three last-place teams went into the Divizia B from. There were two points for a win, one point for a draw and no points for a defeat. If two or more teams were tied at the end of the season, the goal difference decided .

The 1987/88 season was clearly dominated by Steaua Bucharest and Dinamo Bucharest . Both could not win 4 of 34 games each - including the two direct duels. As many points as Steaua and Dinamo this season were only achieved once again (by Steaua in the 1988/89 season ). Apart from the games among themselves (0-0 and 3-3), Steaua only gave two draws (0-0 at FC Argeș Pitești and SC Bacău ) and Dinamo one draw (0-0 at FC Olt Scornicești ) and one defeat (1 : 2 at Politehnica Timișoara ) from.
