FC Inter Sibiu was a Romanian football club from Sibiu . He played from 1988 to 1996 in the highest Romanian football league, the Divizia A .
history
Inter Sibiu was founded in 1982 . The club initially played in Divizia C and rose to Divizia B in 1986 . Already In 1988, after the renewed rise of the jump in the highest Romanian football league, the Divizia A . After a 6th place in the 1989/90 season , Inter Sibiu celebrated the greatest successes in the club's history in the following season 1990/91 : In addition to 4th place, the team won the Balkan Cup for club teams in the final against Buducnost Titograd .
Inter Sibiu could never build on the successful year 1991. After a few years in the midfield of Divizia A, Inter Sibiu rose to Divizia B at the end of the 1995/96 season . In 2000, Inter Sibiu had to file for bankruptcy. Because of financial difficulties, the team withdrew on November 7, 2000 after the 14th game day of Divizia B from the championship, but continued to maintain the youth team operation. A takeover of the club by the city of Sibiu and the renaming to "Sport Club Municipal Inter Sibiu" failed on October 6, 2000 because old debt claims were not given up. In 2003 the club merged with AMSO Sibiu to form FC Sibiu .
