Divizia A 1984/85

The Divizia A 1985/86 was the 48th season in the history of the Romanian football league Divizia A. It began on August 4, 1985 and ended on June 18, 1986 . Games were closed from mid-December to early March ( winter break ).

Champion was again Steaua Bucharest , which also won the European Champions Cup this season .

The 18 teams played against each other twice on 34 match days. The three last-place teams went into the Divizia B from. There were two points for a win, one point for a draw and no points for a defeat. If two or more teams were tied at the end of the season, the goal difference decided .
