The Divizia A 1975/76 was the 38th season in the history of the Romanian football league Divizia A. It began on August 17, 1975 and ended on June 20, 1976 . Games were closed from mid-December to early March ( winter break ).

Champion became Steaua Bucharest .

The 18 teams played against each other twice on 34 match days. The three last-place teams went into the Divizia B from. There were two points for a win, one point for a draw and no points for a defeat. If two or more teams were tied at the end of the season, the goal difference decided .
