The 18 teams played against each other twice on 34 match days. The last two teams were relegated to Divizia A , while the teams in places 15 and 16 played a relegation game against the two runners-up in Divizia A. For the first time this season there were three points for a win, one point for a draw and no points for a defeat. If two or more teams were tied at the end of the season, it was not the goal difference that decided , but the direct comparison .
