Divizia Națională 1995/96

The Divizia Națională 1996/97 was the 59th season of the highest Romanian football league . It started on July 31, 1996 and ended on June 14, 1997 . The game was closed from mid-December to the end of February ( winter break ).

Champion was Steaua Bucharest for the fifth time in a row .
