Divizia A 1985/86

The Divizia A 1986/87 was the 49th season in the history of the Romanian football league Divizia A. It began on August 17, 1986 and ended on June 30, 1987 . Games were closed from mid-December to early March ( winter break ).

Champion was Steaua Bucharest for the third time in a row . The team took over the championship lead after the first three wins and did not give it up until the end of the season. Steaua was confirmed as champions after the 30th match day and ended the season unbeaten with a 15 point lead over Dinamo Bucharest.
